After hearing the Gospel on Sunday, I realized several short thoughts:
God thinks we are silly.
We are the prodigal son, we run away, spend all our money, do foolish things and then run home when we are hungry & poor. The father knew that this would happen.
God has compassion on our silliness. HE just loves us anyways!
He saw us coming home, he saw us down the road. God knows all things, he knew we would screw up, then shamefully come back. And he looked on with compassion anyway.
God wants us to stop keeping track. Especially of others.
The neglected brother lamented at his brothers foolishness & the lavish party his father threw. The father had a lengthy chat with said brother. He got more of a lecture than the foolish run away brother! Ouch, that hurt.
God knows best. He knows we will mess up. And still loves us. He misses us when we are gone.
